Dr. Davis was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. She completed her undergraduate degree at Howard University in Washington D.C., and received her M.D. from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. After completing her Family Practice Residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina where she served as chief resident, she joined Urban Family Practice in the summer of 2000.
She is an adjunct clinical assistant professor in the Department of Community Health and Preventative Medicine at the Morehouse School of Medicine where she also serves as co-chair for the Community Physicians Network (CPN). She sits on the Georgia Clinical and Translational Science Alliance (Georgia CTSA) Emory School of Medicine External Advisory Committee. She maintains an active membership with the American Academy of Family Physicians and Georgia Academy of Family Physicians. She currently serves on the board of directors as a district director for Georgia Academy of Family Physicians and a member of the practice management committee.
Dr. Davis’ interest in medical research has led to the development of the research department at Urban Family Practice. She serves as the principal investigator on many of the clinical studies that include research in diabetes, hyperlipidemia, migraine, women’s health, and obesity/weight loss.
In 2019, Dr. Davis earned the American Academy of Family Physicians Degree of Fellow (FAAFP). This is awarded to Family Physicians who have distinguished themselves among their colleagues and communities by service to Family Medicine.
Dr. Davis resides in Cobb County with her family.
